Hand carved in Kisii country in Kenya by Tabaka Chigware Youth Self Help Group, these beautifully crafted soapstone hearts are tactile and soothing to hold. One little heart can convey a lot of meaning. The soapstone is mined, carved by hand into the required shape, coloured and polished, and then the pattern is etched. Habitat Blackwood brings the stock in directly from the craftspeople. They measure 5cm x 1.5cm, and are available in 7 colours.

Note that the etched patterns vary so the hearts can be ordered by colour only. I can look for a preference but not promise it!
